Query-Based API
- AeroAPI is a simple, query-based API that provides on-demand access to FlightAware’s comprehensive flight tracking and flight status data repository. Request precisely the data you need, when you need it.
- It is a RESTful API delivering accurate and actionable aviation data in JSON to solve your operational needs.
- API is organized into 7 logical families of functionality, delivering tremendous flexibility with over 60 functions and dozens of optional query parameters. This will enable you to request the right data at the just the right time, whether its by flight identifier, aircraft registration number, or more broadly by airport or operator.
- Users can obtain current or historical data, as well as future flight schedules. The entire flight object is returned, providing flight status along with all scheduled and actual times, as well as the flight track or a static image of the track flown. With the introduction of FlightAware ForesightTM, customers have access to the data that powers over half of the predictive airline ETAs in the US. Alternatively, set up flight alerting to be notified real-time of flight departure, arrival and flifo events for flights or aircraft of interest.
- FlightAware AeroAPI provides both real-time and historical data for any flight or tail number from January 01, 2011 forward.
FlightAware FirehoseSM
Continuous Data Stream
- Firehose is our enterprise-grade, real-time data feed of global aircraft ADS-B flight positions and flight status. All updates are pushed immediately.
- It is a TCP-based, SSL streaming data feed, delivered in JSON Lines format.
- Obtain everything you are looking for with a single Firehose connection, including both airborne and surface position data sourced primarily from FlightAware's extensive terrestrial network of ADS-B receivers. Positions from Aireon's space-based ADS-B network, datalink/ACARS providers and RADAR may be included as additional data layers to enhance flight tracking.
- Flight Status (FLIFO) data, FlightAware ForesightTM Predicted ETAs and Taxi Out Durations, Ready to Taxi events, and weather/extended Mode S/FMS data are also available to enrich the flight tracking.
- Access surface tracking, along with en-route flight positions.
- FlightAware Firehose provides real-time data as well as historical playback capability.
